Riots which started in Tottenham in north London on Saturday night were followed by looting. This violence has since spread to other parts of the capital. Last night there were also outbreaks of rioting and looting in a number of other cities, including Birmingham, Bristol and Liverpool.
The rioting seems to have been sparked by the shooting by police of a man during an arrest last Thursday.
Last night, Christian leaders in Tottenham held a vigil of hope.
Please pray for all those affected and for a speedy return to peace.
